FAQs
Yes. We build custom homes, remodel homes (including kitchens and bathrooms) and build additions throughout Wellesley and the surrounding towns.
Most building, remodeling and addition projects need a permit from the Wellesley Building Department at 888 Worcester Street. We handle permitting as part of pre-construction.
It can. Under Wellesley’s Demolition Review Bylaw, demolishing a house built on or before December 31, 1949, either entirely or by removing or enveloping 50% or more of its exterior structure, goes to the Historical Commission. If the Commission finds the house should be preferably preserved, the town imposes a 12-month delay on the demolition permit. A large addition can trigger this, so we check it early and build it into the schedule.
It may. Wellesley’s Large House Review process applies to new homes and additions that go over a size limit set by your zoning district. Those projects are reviewed by the Planning Board, which adds time to the schedule, so we plan for it from the start.
We use open-book contracting, so you see every cost. Every week you get a report comparing actual costs to the forecast, so decisions get made with real numbers before small changes turn into big overruns.
Yes. We work alongside your architect and act as your representative in the field. If you do not have one yet, we can introduce you to design partners we work with.
